The Department of Homeland Security has issued a request for proposals on security technology concepts based on key topics under the agency’s Small Business Innovation Research program.
The solicitation covers two subject areas for Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office’s missions and eight potential topics for DHS Science and Technology Directorate projects, DHS S&T said Wednesday.
William Bryan, the acting undersecretary for DHS S&T, said the agency will leverage the program to allow small businesses to develop platforms intended to address security concerns.
The SBIR competitive contract awards program seeks to further the commercialization of security platforms and reinforce small businesses’ participation in government research and development efforts.
Interested vendors may submit their responses through Jan. 23.
