Brad Smith, president of Microsoft, said at the Reagan National Defense Forum that the company aims to offer full technology access to the U.S. military, Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
Smith added the technology firm wants to quell concerns by industry employees regarding the use of artificial intelligence in military activities.
“We want Silicon Valley to know just how ethical and honorable a tradition the military has,†he told audience during a panel discussion at the forum.
He said autonomous and AI technologies have a broad range of applications and that Microsoft will engage with its employees address ethical implications of technology development efforts.
