The Florida Department of Management Services has selected Motorola Solutions to build a radio system to facilitate public safety communications throughout the state.
Motorola said Monday it would provide the ASTRO 25 land mobile radio technology and manage Project 25 as part of the billion-dollar Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System.
ASTRO 25 will work to help federal, state and local first responders communicate in efforts to protect Florida’s residents and visitors.
The department issued in March an intent to award notice and the State of Florida Administrative Law Judge confirmed last month the selection of the company.
The SLERS buildout project is scheduled to commence in 2020.
