The Energy Department seeks input from industry and the general public on how to build testing platforms that can support national-level offshore wind energy research and development activities.
DOE wants to know about U.S.-based facilities that research and develop wind power generation systems, as well as modernization requirements of such facilities through a request for information notice released Friday.
The department also requested data on specific studies and tests necessary to advance offshore wind energy R&D efforts.
Interested parties can electronically submit comments and ideas to DOE through Sept. 14.
