ManTech International has launched a new logistics center in North Charleston, S.C., to support the U.S. Army’s Vehicle Engineering Maintenance and Operations Support program.
The logistics center is composed of two buildings with a combined space of approximately 310,000 square feet, including a central hub that houses parts for the service’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles and other route clearance vehicles, the company said Wednesday.
Kevin Phillips, ManTech president and CEO and a 2018 Wash100 recipient; Dan Keefe, president and chief operating officer of the company’s mission solutions and services group; R. Keith Summey, mayor of North Charleston; and Minnie Newman, mayor of the city of Hanahan, S.C., were scheduled Wednesday to attend the opening ceremony for the new facility.
“ManTech has set the standard for operational, engineering and logistics support for U.S. Army MRAP vehicles, and sustains a 96 percent operational readiness rate ensuring these vital assets are consistently available for critical missions,†Keefe said.
ManTech said the center has approximately 50 logistics analysts, mechanical technicians and heavy equipment mechanics and veterans account for approximately 90 percent of the facility’s employees.
The company received a potential five-year, $847 million task order in November 2017 to help sustain approximately 25,000 MRAP and other military vehicles for the Army.
