Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe has entered into a partnership with Michael S. Santelli and Philip T. Sweeney, two government contracting executives, to field acquisition opportunities for technology-enabled federal services companies, the New York, N.Y., private equity firm said Monday.
“We are excited about partnering with WCAS as we re-enter the federal government services marketplace,†commented Santelli. “Having worked with WCAS previously, we know first-hand their ability to support growth and operational improvement to create market-leading businesses.â€
“Leveraging our strong relationship with WCAS and our collective experience in growing government technology-enabled services businesses, it is the perfect time to join forces to take advantage of the many opportunities available in the market,” Sweeney added.
Until last year, Santelli and Sweeney ran OMNIPLEX World Services Corporation, a security services company whose customers include the Department of Homeland Security and intelligence community, as president and chief executive officer, and executive chairman, respectively.
“We are delighted to work with Mike and Phil to build a pre-eminent services provider to the federal government,†said Michael Donovan, a general partner at WCAS. “Their operational background and M&A expertise are very well suited to the opportunities that exist in the market today.”
Founded in 1979, WCAS invests in the technology and healthcare sectors.
