Zalenda Cyrille, a program director at Vencore, has been given the Modern Day Technology Leaders Award for her efforts to foster interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.
Vencore said Monday the recognition was given at the 2017 Black Engineer of the Year Award conference held Friday in Washington, D.C.
The award commends the recipient’s commitment to support the future of STEM and recognizes mid-career professionals for their efforts to bolster the STEM pipeline, Vencore added.
“We congratulate Zalenda on receiving this award, and are honored that she is part of the Vencore family,” said Vencore President and CEO Mac Curtis.
Curtis added the award reflects Vencore’s commitment to hire highly skilled employees to help customers address problems.
Cyrille volunteers in STEM organizations and mentors young people on engineering careers.
She provides enterprise-level systems engineering, agile development and project management support to federal government customers under her current role.
