Avaya will provide its contact center technology for the North American Aerospace Defense Command‘s Santa hotline.
The communications services company said Thursday volunteers will use the Avaya Customer Engagement platform to answer children’s calls to the NORAD Tracks Santa hotline.
“Avaya Government Solutions is pleased to help the North American Aerospace Defense Command keep the NORAD Tracks Santa tradition alive for Santa fans around the globe,” said Jerry Dotson, vice president at Avaya’s government solutions business unit.
Avaya will deliver the same technology that its government solutions segment uses to aid NORAD’s operations center at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.
Volunteers will take calls from 6 a.m. Eastern time on Dec. 24 through the early Christmas morning and NORAD personnel will use radar, satellites, jets and Santa cams to provide details on Santa’s travels.
The hotline received nearly 141,000 calls across the world in 2015 to surpass the 2014 record of 134,970 inquiries.
