Raytheon will contribute $100,000 and employee volunteers to Habitat for Humanity’s branch in Washington to support the construction of a home for a veteran and his or her family.
The company said Tuesday DC Habitat will select the homeowners of the house to be built in the southeast neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
Dave Wajsgras, president of Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business, said the company works to create an impact in the communities of its employees.
He added that the construction of the home is in line with the company’s mission to provide service men and women with services that aim to support their safety during missions.
“With the financial and hands-on support of incredible sponsors… we’re able to sell our volunteer-built homes at no profit,” said Susanne Slater, DC Habitat president and CEO.
