Outgoing Washington city council member Vincent Orange has been selected as the D.C. Chamber of Commerce’s next president and CEO, the Washington Business Journal reported Thursday.
Andy Medici writes Orange, who currently serves as chairman of the committee on business, consumer and regulatory affairs, will continue his term as councilman until January 2017 and will take helm as D.C. Chamber CEO on August 15.
Orange has authored laws for D.C. citizens such as the Minimum Wage Amendment Act of 2013, DC Affordable Housing Act of 2014 and the Earned Sick and Safe Leave Act of 2013.
