Peter Simpson, a 20-year information technology veteran, has returned to Datawatch as vice president of visualization strategy at the Bedford, Massachusetts-based visual analytics company.
He will oversee the company’s efforts to grow its visual data discovery business and capital market footprint in his new position, Datawatch said Wednesday.
“Peter’s in-depth knowledge of our visualization software, as well as his inherent understanding of trading firms’ business requirements, uniquely qualify him to lead the global expansion of our visual analytics platform in capital markets,” said Michael Morrison, president and CEO of Datawatch.
Simpson previously held technical roles at Digital Reasoning and at Deloitte‘s British subsidiary.
Simpson joined Datawatch in 2013 upon its acquisition of Panopticon Software, where he served as chief technology officer for five years.
Before that, he spent eight years at the technology, equities and global research division of HSBC‘s securities business as well as worked for various firms that offer analytics technology for trading companies.
