Robert Malone, formerly executive chairman, president and CEO of First Sonora Bancshares, has joined Teledyne Technologies’ board of directors.
He previously served as an executive vice president of BP and chairman and president of BP America prior to his role at Sonora Bank, Teledyne said Thursday.
Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and CEO of Teledyne, said Malone’s background in the energy and natural resources industries would provide insights into the global markets for the company.
Malone began his career with Kennecott Copper in 1974 as a pyrometallurgical engineer.
He later served as president, CEO and chief operating officer of the operating company for TAPS, Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. upon his appointment by the Owners Committee, where he was a member in 1996 and then chairman.
Between November 2002 and July 2006, Malone was the chief executive of BP Shipping Ltd.
At present, Malone is an independent director of Halliburton and Peabody Energy, and a director of First Sonora Bancshares and Intera.
