Linda Gooden, formerly an executive vice president at Lockheed Martin, has joined General Motors’ board of directors.
Gooden served as president of Lockheed’s information technology division and oversaw integrated IT and cyber services for civil, defense, intelligence and other government clients, GM said Thursday.
Tim Solso, GM chairman, said Gooden’s “background in the aerospace and defense industry provides a diverse perspective†to the company’s board.
The four-decade industry veteran started her career with GM’s former Packard Electric division and later held various senior management roles at Lockheed Martin.
President Barack Obama appointed Gooden to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee in 2010.
She also serves on the boards of Automatic Data Processing, WGL Holdings and Washington Gas Light Co.
