AMERICAN SYSTEMS has received the Small Business Partner of the Year award at the Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum in recognition of the company’s efforts to assist small businesses through mentorships, partnerships and other programs.
The company, along with other government contractors involved in the small business community, was honored during this year’s Government Contractor Awards Gala on May 1, AMERICAN SYSTEMS said Wednesday.
“Small businesses introduce new and exciting ideas to promote innovation in government and enable agencies to meet their missions,” said Peter Smith, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
AMERICAN SYSTEMS has participated in several mentor-protege programs, including those of the U.S. Small Business Administration and General Services Administration, to provide small businesses with resources and opportunities to pursue government contracts and subcontracts.
