The Customs and Border Protection has posted a request for information on cloud services providers that can help the agency migrate its applications out of a data center.
CBP said Wednesday in a FedBizOpps notice that it aims to move all of its on-premises applications from the office of information and technology’s National Data Center complex in Springfield, Virginia to a commercial cloud platform by September 2019.
The agency’s guiding principles for the migration include the adoption of a commercial CSP; reduction of technical debt; mission continuity; the transformation of the operating model; and the development of a flexible service-based model.
Interested vendors should be able to perform program management services, cloud services, site engineering support, cloudoperations center development, cloud brokerage services and cybersecurity and incident reporting, among others.
CBP will accept responses to the RFI until April 16.
