AT&T has partnered with Geotab to offer a fleet management platform designed to address the needs of small business, enterprise and government customers.
AT&T said Monday it incorporated its internet of things platforms with Geotab’s fleet tracking system to develop the enterprise fleet management offering.
The IoT platforms — dubbed AT&T Fleet Management for Enterprise and AT&T Fleet Management for Government — are designed to help clients boost productivity, control costs, optimize safety and comply with industry regulations.
Chris Penrose, president of IoT solutions at AT&T, said the fleet management tools work to support the monitoring of vehicles, assets and mobile personnel from a single analytics-based platform.
AT&T uses the system for its own fleet of more than 80,000 vehicles, and the company expects to save $40 million in the next five years through the service.
The platform provides data meant to help track and lessen idle time, optimize routing, boost mileage, decrease fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
