Globecomm has been designated as a “Standard Technology Partner” within Amazon Web Services‘ Partner Network.
The partnership authorizes Globecomm to integrate its global satellite and fiber network with AWS’ storage, computing and cloud content delivery services, Globecomm said Tuesday.
The telecommunications company can also provision clients’ content, work processes and network connectivity into AWS and give existing AWS customers access to Globecomm’s teleports, satellite capacity, fiber points of presence and cloud software applications that run on the AWS cloud.
“In the past, customers had to use traditional stacked hardware in their own data centers and then build their own teleport and operate the entire environment just to serve their markets,” said Globecomm CEO Jason Juranek.
He added that organizations can now develop systems, create content and gain global connectivity without owning a single physical asset through the use of AWS’ cloud offerings and Globecomm’s global fiber and teleport network.
Globecomm is working to expand its points of presence with AWS across North America, Central Europe and Southeast Asia.
