Textron‘s AAI Corp. subsidiary will perform mid-endurance unmanned aircraft system intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance services for the U.S. Special Operations Command under a $30 million contract modification.
The Defense Department said Monday the award extends the contract period by up to 12 months and increases the contract value to a maximum of $105 million.
AAI will extend ISR support to address a gap for critical services ahead of USSOCOM’s transition to the MEUAS III contract, DoD added.
USSOCOM obligated $3.8 million at the time of award from its operations and maintenance funds in fiscal 2017.
AAI and Boeing‘s Insitu subsidiary were awarded a potential $475 million multiple-award contract in early June to support the command’s UAS ISR operations.
