Boeing plans to establish a defense business unit in India as part of the aircraft manufacturer’s expansion efforts in the country, The Economic Times reported Wednesday.
The report said Pratyush Kumar, president of Boeing’s India-based subsidiary, will also lead the Boeing Defence India business.
Kumar said BDI will work to help Boeing expand the company’s partnership with India’s defense ministry.
BDI will manage Boeing’s investments in India such as the joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems, the C-17 simulator training center, engineering center expansion and sourcing, manufacturing, sales and marketing activities.
