Northrop Grumman has received a $22.7 million contract modification to a previously awarded contract to support the development and production of the U.S. Navy‘s Common Missile Compartment.
The modification covers support for tactical underwater launcher hardware production as well as technical, design, development, component, full-scale test and evaluation engineering, the Defense Department said Thursday.
The company received the initial $15.6 million award in 2015 as part of a potential five-year, $198 million contract to support the Navy’s development of the subsystems on the Ohio-class submarine replacement’s Common Missile Compartment.
Work under the modification will occur in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington in the U.S. as well as England through September 2020.
The Strategic Systems Programs provided the full modification amount from fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
