The U.S. Navy has awarded General Dynamics‘ Bath Iron Works subsidiary a one-year, $59.4 million contract modification to provide lead yard services for the DDG 51 guided missile destroyer shipbuilding program.
Bath Iron Works will perform general class, class logistic, class design agent and class change design services as well as support DDG 51 Flight III update design efforts and liaison for follow ship construction, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
DoD said the modification includes options that could increase the contract’s total ceiling to $73.7 million.
Work will occur in Maine, Florida, Colorado and Massachusetts through December 2017.
The Naval Sea Systems Command obligated $56.1 million in fiscal 2012, 2015 and 2016 shipbuilding and conversion funds at the time of award of the modification.
