Lockheed Martin has opened a new facility in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, that will serve as one of the aerospace company’s five global information technology service centers, News is my Business reported Wednesday.
The government of Puerto Rico expects Lockheed’s expansion efforts through the new facility to help create 120 new jobs, according to the report.
Puerto Rico Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla and Anne Mullins, a vice president and chief information officer at Lockheed, attended the inauguration ceremony Tuesday for the Aguadilla campus.
Mullins said Lockheed’s expansion of business operations in the U.S. territory seeks to build up the company’s workforce and provide IT support to approximately 98,000 Lockheed employees worldwide.
The report said the company’s Aguadilla facility has 98 employees, including senior and junior IT staff and cybersecurity personnel.
