CyrusOne has purchased a 23-acre land property in Aurora, Illinois, near a Chicago-based data center the colocation services provider bought in April from CME Group.
The property is located at 32W 130 Molitor Road and is set for development over the next few years to connect with the CME Globex global trading platform alongside CyrusOne’s existing Aurora facility, CyrusOne said Thursday.
“Upon completion, buildings across the campus are expected to have seamless connectivity to the world’s largest futures exchange, and provide customers with access to a wide range of retail colocation services, cloud connectivity and carriers,†said Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer of CyrusOne.
CyrusOne intended to expand its portfolio of data centers across the U.S. and abroad to more than 30 with the acquisition of the Aurora data center.
The 428,000-square-foot Aurora facility is meant to help customers connect with global financial markets through the CME Globex platform.
