The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity has released a broad agency announcement that seeks industry feedback on a project that aims to secure the Department of Homeland Security‘s biometric systems against threats, Fedscoop reported Monday.
Kayla Nick-Kearney writes the Odin program will be fully launched in 2018 to find technologies that will work to protect DHS’ biometrics systems at ports and borders.
Chris Boehnen, Odin program manager at IARPA, said the project aims to look beyond common falsification tactics such as latex putty fingerprints.
He added advanced data analytics and machine learning might play a role in the detection of attacks and threats on biometric systems.
