A Bluedrop Performance Learning subsidiary has secured a $13 million contract from Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary to provide aircrew training instructors and courseware in support of a maritime helicopter program in Canada.
Bluedrop Training & Simulation said Tuesday the contract requires 30 technician and aircrew instructors, simulator operators and training program support personnel to train the 406 Operational and Training Squadron to operate Canada’s CH-148 Cyclone maritime helicopters.
The Cyclone training program includes two flight simulators, two operational mission simulators, six mission procedures trainers and two aircraft maintenance trainers.
This award extends Bluedrop’s training support for the helicopter program by three years, the company added.
Sikorsky serves as the prime contractor of the helicopter program, which involves the delivery of 28 Cyclone helicopters to replace Canada’s fleet of Sikorsky Sea King aircraft.
