Boeing has signed an agreement with Turkey-based company iGA Havalimani Isletmesi to provide technical assistance services for an international airport infrastructure development project in Istanbul.
Under the deal, Boeing unit Jeppesen will supply a Total Airport and Airspace Modeler tool to help iGA and the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey design airpace structure for the Istanbul New Airport as well as develop an operations optimization program and an operational readiness plan, Boeing said Monday.
TAAM is designed to help airport developers simulate and assess various operational procedure alternatives for the airspace and runway optimization process.
Jeppessen will train IGA and DHMI on how to operate the simulation and analysis tool.
Boeing added the project also seeks to identify strategies to maintain safety and avoid airspace conflict within the regional Istanbul Terminal Control Area.
