Charles River Analytics has produced a game-based module for the National Science Foundation as part of an initiative to help U.S. high school students develop their science, technology, engineering, math and entrepreneurship skills.
Charles River Analytics said Thursday the Trains of Thought proof-of-concept integrates educational research, the Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe business simulation video game and a gameplay.
The approach is based on educational research results and seeks to facilitate creation of new standards for using games to teach STEM and entrepreneurship to K-12 students, Charles River Analytics noted.
Trains of Thought also includes an interactive guide on how teachers can deliver core lesson content to students as well as pointers to gameplay elements and a detailed learning example.
