Accellion has obtained what the company called an “in-process†certification under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to offer a private cloud platform to federal agencies.
The company said Thursday it expects to achieve a full FedRAMP certification in 2016 for its Kiteworks Federal Cloud offering.
Palo Alto, California-based Accellion’s Kiteworks is a software-as-a-service private cloud platform designed to help users access, share and collaborate with external and internal teams on sensitive documents that are stored on desktops, tablets and other mobile devices, according to a service description posted on FedRAMP website.
“We are actively pursuing and progressing toward full FedRAMP certification so that we can further support government agencies in their pursuit to protect sensitive data,†said Yorgen Edholm, CEO of Accellion.
Third-party assessment organization Burr Pilger Mayer evaluates Kiteworks under the certification process’ independent testing phase.
Accellion will deploy its cloud offering on Amazon Web Services’ Cloud and GovCloud platforms once it receives full FedRAMP certification.
