Rolls-Royce has unveiled a new facility at Naval Air Station Kingsville in Texas to provide engine repair support for the T-45 trainer jet of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps.
The company said Monday the service delivery center will also provide service operations support for the Rolls-Royce-built F405 Adour engines of the aircraft.
A BAE Systems–Boeing partnership manufactures the T-45s.
Capt. Christopher Misner, commanding officer of NAS Kingsville, said Rolls-Royce has been a partner of the Training Air Wing Two in its efforts to train half of the carrier-qualified aviators in both service branches.
Rolls-Royce currently provides overhaul, repair, field service support and engineering services for the Navy’s F405 engine fleet at NAS Kingsville under the MissionCare contract.
The contract also covers spare parts management, logistics, technical support, engineering updates and inventory support.
