Hughes Network Systems has secured a contract to supply a satellite broadband gateway and very small aperture terminals to Lintasarta as the companies seek to help address a demand for managed enterprise networks in Indonesia.
The Indonesian communications firm plans to install Hughes’ JUPITER System gateway and up to 5,000 VSATs designed to facilitate high-bandwidth connectivity for clients, Hughes said Wednesday.
Ramesh Ramaswamy, vice president of international sales and marketing at Hughes, said the company developed its JUPITER technology to operate with Ku-band, C-band and Ka-band satellite communication systems.
The platform employs an Internet protocol-over-satellite architecture and a system-on-a-chip microprocessor built to transmit data at a speed of up to 100 megabits per second.
