Globecomm has unveiled a managed satellite service offering intended to facilitate high-capacity broadband connectivity for fixed or mobile government and enterprise communications.
The VSAT service is designed to support data and video transmission on ground, maritime and aerial platforms as well as Internet of Things-based applications, Globecomm said Monday.
Jon Kirchner, senior vice president of corporate strategy at Globecomm, said the company aims to “supply our customers with the satellite coverage and capacity required to support their growing needs beyond basic connectivity.”
The company’s VSAT platform is built upon iDirect‘s Internet protocol-based satellite communications technology Evolution and offers Ku, Ka and C-Band connectivity options for government and enterprise clients.
German shipping company Briese Schiffahrts has rolled out the Globecomm VSAT platform to some of its vessels.
