NATO has selected Polycom to help implement a unified communications and collaboration system at the alliance’s new headquarters currently under construction in Brussels.
Polycom said Tuesday it will provide its RealPresence platform for NATO’s active network infrastructure in an effort to help its personnel to conduct video conferences as well as send data and voice messages with each other and military organizations.
Sean Berg, vice president of Polycom’s public sector business, said the company aims to help the alliance carry out global security initiatives with unified communications technology.
NATO wants the infrastructure to also secure communications and support decision-making across the organization.
Polycom will also equip the future NATO HQ with its business media voice endpoint technology VVX designed to operate with the Skype For Business platform.
