Mission Secure Inc.Mission Secure Inc. has closed a second round of financing in preparation for the company’s plan to deploy cyber physical systems security project.

The company will use the funding to build upon its Secure Sentinel Platform technology research and development work, Mission Secure said Tuesday.

“Global companies and the military are challenged to find the most efficient and effective ways to protect the systems and components running their most critical assets from cyber, insider and supply chain attacks,” said David Drescher, CEO at MSi.

“The additional financing will accelerate our work and expand upon years of research focused on cyber security for physical assets,” Drescher added.

MSi began its cyber physical systems initiative at the University of Virginia with funding from the Defense Department in an effort to help protect industrial control systems used by the energy, defense and transportation sectors.

Dean Weber has been appointed as MSi’s chief cyber architect to lead the company’s cybersecurity efforts.
