Blue Canopy Group has received a five-year, $39 million prime contract to build a high-performance computing infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services‘ cloud environment for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission‘s office of information technology.
The HPCI will feature a big data analytics function in support of SEC’s efforts to detect high-frequency trading and stop fraud, Blue Canopy said Friday.
“By combining big data analytics and cloud computing to create an elastic high-performance computing environment, the SEC will have a platform to derive insights into compliance and fraudulent activity like never before,” said Bradley Schwartz, president and CEO of Blue Canopy.
The contract is part of the Chief Information Officer – Solutions and Partners 3 Small Business governmentwide acquisition contract.
According to Blue Canopy, the HPCI implementation also works to support the administration’s National Strategic Computing Initiative.
