Amazon Web Services has become a member of the nonprofit IJIS Institute and will provide leadership, expertise and financial support for the institute’s national information sharing and safeguarding efforts.
The IJIS Institute said Thursday its programs are aimed at the law enforcement, homeland security and public safety sectors.
“We’re looking forward to taking advantage of the opportunity IJIS provides to collaborate on programs that protect our nation’s communities by bringing the power of the cloud to our first responders,” said Max Peterson, general manager of partners, capture and contracts for the AWS worldwide public sector business.
The institute provides training, technical assistance, scope issue management and program management services to members in order to promote information exchanges in government.
