Boeing has offered an invite-only trailer of its conceptual design for a T-X military trainer platform during a recent Air Force Association event, Defense News reported Tuesday.
Aaron Mehta writes Boeing and Saab designed the platform as their joint offering for the U.S. Air Force‘s T-38 replacement program.
A Lockheed Martin–Korea Aerospace Industries partnership and consortia led by Northrop Grumman and Textron AirLand are also pursuing the program.
Mehta said Alenia Aermacchi is looking for another U.S.-based company to jointly pursue the T-X competition after General Dynamics decided to withdraw as the Italian firm’s prime partner in March.
The Air Force plans to buy up to 350 new aircrew training systems.
