Intel has created an Automotive Security Review Board to perform audits and codify best practices for cybersecurity in the automobile industry in order to mitigate cyber risks among connected, next-generation cars.
The company said Monday the board consists of security industry professionals with specializations in cyber-physical systems.
“With the help of the ASRB, Intel can establish security best practices and encourage that cybersecurity is an essential ingredient in the design of every connected car,” said Chris Young, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s security business.
ASRB will use Intel’s automotive advanced development platforms to conduct its research, the findings of which the company said it will publish on its future automotive cybersecurity best practices white papers.
Issue number one of the white paper is available for public comment at the McAfee website.
