Intel and Big Cloud Analytics will collaborate to develop sensor-based platforms designed to collect patient data for use in population and individual health analysis through a Lockheed Martin-led healthcare alliance, BSMInfo reported Monday.
The Lockheed Martin Healthcare Technology Alliance is comprised of Intel, Cloudera, Montgomery College, Cisco and Illumina and aims to advance public health through Internet of Things and other information technology tools and services, Megan Williams writes.
“Through collaboration between health IT industry and academic partners, this team will develop and refine technologies that will help guide decisions for care, diagnosis and treatment of disease while protecting critical health information,†said Horace Blackman, vice president of health and life sciences at Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions.
BCA and Intel will offer the resulting tools to pharmaceutical firms, insurers, health providers and government agencies.
