The Defense Department has launched a market research on cellular services and mobile devices with the release of a request for information on Friday that seeks input from industry for its mobile service program for employees.
Mobile devices needed under the program must provide text, data, voice service and mobile hotspot service, according to the FedBizOpps notice.
They should also be compatible with U.S. and international cellular networks and work with web-based ordering tools, it indicated.
The department also considers government-approved refurbished equipment and the contractor must set the procedures for replacing warranted devices.
Submissions for the RFI will close on Aug. 24.
