Sierra Nevada Corp. has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Leonardo‘s subsidiaries in the U.K. and U.S. as both companies look to grow their presence in the global intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technology market.
The partnership will build on complementary offerings, such as sensor and ISR systems, designed to support the warfighter mission, Leonardo said Monday.
Potential collaboration opportunities for the two parties include work on SNC’s Rapcon-X aerial ISR jet platform and the Italian company’s Sage electronic support measure system.
Under the MOU, Nevada-based SNC and Leonardo Electronics US Inc. will collaborate to help expand the latter’s manufacturing and engineering processes.
Leonardo, which exports airborne sensor products, plans to incorporate technology from SNC into relevant projects.
