The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to launch a full and open competition for the construction of a new ammonium nitrate solution tank farm facility at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, Tennessee.
In a notice posted Wednesday on SAM.gov, USACE said the design-build project is estimated to cost between $100 million and $250 million and be completed within an approximately three-year period.
USACE seeks to build the tank farm to increase HSAAP’s capabilities to store ANSol and prepare the explosives production byproduct for shipment off-site for commercial applications or deep well injection.
The Ansol tank farm will provide expanded storage capacity as the military seeks to accelerate explosives manufacturing over the next three years.
Responses to the presolicitation notice are due Jan. 12.
USACE anticipates releasing the final solicitation on Feb. 1.
