Former CACI and Deloitte executive Thomas Sullivan has been appointed chief growth officer at public sector-serving information technology integrator DecisionPoint Corp.
In his new role, Sullivan will be tasked with facilitating business development efforts and working to help DecisionPoint capture new contracts through proposals and growth-minded strategy, the Gaithersburg, Maryland-headquartered company said Tuesday.
Brian Flood, president and CEO of DecisionPoint, noted Sullivan’s proven track record of making substantial business gains and demonstrating impressive leadership skills, finally expressing his gratitude to be able to work alongside the newly hired executive going forward.
Sullivan’s roots are in engineering — after studying Ocean Engineering as an undergraduate at the Florida Institute of Technology and earning a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University, he spent nearly a decade as an engineer for Newport News Shipbuilding.
The executive pivoted to government contracting to work at American Management Systems, serving as senior principal over the course of 12 years with the company. In the years since, Sullivan has served as a director at CACI and vice president of federal business at consulting management firm Information Experts and began his journey with business development positions as senior vice president of BD at Karta Technologies and VP of BD at MTS Technologies.
At Deloitte, Sullivan was Department of Defense capture manager, wherein he was in charge of shaping the company’s approach to winning new business from the Pentagon, employing strategies like solution vision, price-to-win and position-to-win. Through jobs like this, Sullivan has gained experience winning substantial single-award contracts and multi-award contracts alike, including indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity awards, blank purchase agreements and governmentwide acquisition contracts.
Sullivan shared that he foresees his activities at DecisionPoint as, “focusing on core clients, capture activities for all strategic opportunities, establishing and maintaining a blended, dynamic pipeline of opportunities, and working with all DecisionPoint personnel to establish a business development culture and mindset.”
