GitLab has promoted Joel Krooswyk from his role as senior manager of solutions architecture to the company’s newly created position of federal chief technology officer.
Krooswyk will aim to expand business relationships between the DevSecOps platform provider and software development professionals in the federal sector, GitLab said Monday.
The 25-year software industry veteran joined the company in 2017 from CA Technologies, where he served as director of strategic enterprise presales and executive adviser in the North American market.
He previously spent four years at Rally Software, which CA acquired in 2015, and has written half a million source codes over the course of his career.
“Joel’s experience allows him to provide expert insight to government agencies as they seek guidance on DevOps practices, building software factories, meeting compliance requirements and more,” said Bob Stevens, vice president of the public sector business at GitLab.
