A defense health-focused partnership led by Leidos has deployed the U.S. military’s new electronic health record system to 18 Military Treatment Facility Commands across six states.
The Leidos Partnership for Defense Health delivered the Military Health System Genesis system to 10,000 new users in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi and South Carolina as part of the program’s latest deployment wave, the Reston, Virginia-based company said Monday.
The military EHR platform has been equipped with new capabilities for patient registration and access, patient accounting and medical coding.
“This new capability will improve communication between the clinical and business communities while providing insights into overall care and readiness costs,” said Liz Porter, president of Leidos Health Group.
The system is now running in more than 1,800 locations across the U.S. and offers services to 5.1 million Department of Defense beneficiaries.
LPDH oversees the rollout of the MHS Genesis platform as part of a 23-wave deployment initiative that targets hospitals and physical locations within the U.S. and overseas.
