The Defense Information Systems Agency has granted Impact Level 6 provisional authorization to Palantir Technologies’ Federal Cloud Service.

IL6 accreditation allows Palantir to add a secret region to its cloud platform, supporting Top Secret defense and national security missions of the Department of Defense and other federal entities, the company said Monday.

PFCS, which met IL5 and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program requirements in 2019, uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to take on next generation challenges facing warfighters across the globe.

“The expansion will address growing scale consideration and offer robust data protection as the department adopts new digital capabilities, and critically, will provide easier access to the people who rely upon software every day for their most essential missions,” said Mitchell Skiles, senior architect at Palantir’s federal business unit.

Palantir is only the third company to secure IL6 PA for a cloud service. DISA previously gave this authorization to Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
