Systems Planning and Analysis has purchased government advisory and assistance services provider Arena Technologies for an undisclosed sum.
SPA said Wednesday its acquisition of the Chantilly, Virginia-based business and technology consulting firm is the first of many investments it plans to make to expand its position in the technical advisory market.
William Vantine, president and CEO of SPA, noted that the company looks to build up its position in the space domain through the purchase.
“Arena aligns extremely well with our strategic inorganic priorities and provides access to new, dynamic customers for SPA’s mission-proven, data-driven advisory tools and capabilities,” Vantine added.
SPA supports government and national security customers with services including software development, advanced analytics, program support and strategic advising.
Arena co-founder and CEO John Pollard said the transaction will allow the business to broaden its offerings to the Intelligence Community and other national security clients.
Pollard also noted that the acquisition will support Arena’s employees and expand their career opportunities.
Holland & Knight acted as SPA’s legal counsel on the transaction while G2 Capital Partners and Greenberg Traurig served as Arena’s financial advisor and legal counsel, respectively.
