A joint venture of Israel-based Elbit Systems and KBR has received a potential 12-year, $88 million contract to provide operational support for the U.K. defense ministry’s four additional Texan T-6C training aircraft.
U.K.-based Affinity Flying Training Services will operate the additional T-6C planes at Royal Air Force Valley in Wales in support of the U.K. Military Flying Training System program, Elbit said Monday.
The UKMFTS program supports RAF’s procurement, pilot training, operations and maintenance efforts. RAF already has 10 T-6C planes in service.
Affinity has recorded more than 20,000 flight hours for the UKMFTS program through the company’s sites at RAF Valley, RAF Cranwell and RAF Barkston Heath.
