Collins Aerospace seeks to further support its interior products portfolio and provide customers with maintenance, repair and overhaul services through a new facility in Lenexa, Kansas.
The Raytheon Technologies subsidiary said Tuesday the 279,000-square-foot center of excellence will feature technology engineering, development and manufacturing capabilities, and an MRO service area for its galley inserts, oxygen systems and lighting product lines.
Located in the Kansas Commerce Center, the Collins facility includes office and laboratory space, loading docks and a manufacturing floor across an area double the size of the company’s other existing building in Lenexa.
“This new facility is an investment in Collins, our customers and the Lenexa community we’ve called home for more than half a century,” said Brad Haselhorst, vice president and general manager of interior products at Collins.
The company is also looking for over 60 new personnel to fill vacancies in engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, assembly and other areas.
The Lenexa facility follows Collin’s opening of a new customer experience center supporting U.S. Army aviation programs in Huntsville, Alabama, in October.
