Sedgwick has acquired Bethesda, Maryland-based government contracting firm Managed Care Advisors in an effort to expand business opportunities in the U.S. federal government.
MCA provides compensation case and claims management services in support of federal agency workers and the deal is expected to broaden its public sector offerings, Sedgwick said Wednesday.
Commenting on the acquisition, Elizabeth Demaret, president of specialty solutions at Sedgwick, noted that both companies are commited to optimizing outcomes for government customers and providing federal workforce with value-added services.
MCA will do business as a subsidiary of Sedgwick Public Sector, which offers claims services to government agencies. Following the acquisition, MCA’s offerings will include Sedgwick’s risk management and claims products currently available in the commercial sector.

Sedgwick offers technology-enabled risk, benefits and integrated business services. It caters to casualty, property, marine, benefits, brand protection and other client requirement.
