Naval Energetic Systems and Technologies, a public-private partnership between the U.S. Navy and the National Armaments Consortium, has posted a document listing solicited munition technologies including hypersonic weapons, Defense News reported Friday.
The document contains 57 requirement statements, which officials say may equate to $100 million in solicitations. These required technologies include different kinds of propellants, warheads, logistical equipment and propulsion systems.
NEST may release more waves of requirements every four months, the report noted.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Indian Head Division partnered with the consortium to establish NEST, which invests in energetics technologies. NEST was stood up in March with Advanced Technology International as a partner to address industrial challenges related to energetics.
